My name is Mensur Hamid, and I’m originally from Eritrea. I’ve been living in the UK for about three and a half years now. Since arriving, I’ve been focused on building a new life for myself through education and work. I’m currently a student, and alongside my studies, I’ve been working as a support worker with Shining Stars for the past five months.
This job has been a meaningful experience for me. It’s not just about helping others — it’s also helped me grow personally and professionally. Supporting individuals with their daily needs and being part of their journey has taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of strong community connections.
